If the apartment is listed at a lower price, can you make the manager reduce the price?

I’m looking to rent a new apartment. Online at quite a few different websites, the apartment is listed at 35 dollars less than what the Manager said on the phone. Is there a way to bargain with them to reduce the price back down? Please help!

What is the best bargain in purchasing a home? I have no money to put down and bad credit with a new job?

Cellen asked:

I am desperate to stay in our school district for my kids sake. I am desperate to leave my situation away from my boyfriend, also; for my kids sake. I now have bad credit (most is 5+ yrs old) and just started a descent paying job that will become commission based. I feel that purchasing is smarter than renting. So, I wonder if one has to have good credit, job stability, and/or money down to purchase a home. Or which is most important? I am working on all of the above and obviously it takes time. So, I need to figure out the best first, second, third and so on, move.

Will my family starve?

C B asked:

I live on the west coast of Canada. I am a 30 year old father of two. I am an IT professional and bring home close to 50k a year after taxes. My wife is a stay at home Mom who does some part time work and daycare from home, it’s not much but she brings in about $1000 a month.

Lately we have been noticing that we are just not surviving.

Our rent is $1200 a month for a 2 bedroom 900 square foot suite.
Gas prices just hit 139.3/liter (Thats 527.3 / gallon)
Food prices have jumped 25% in the last 6 months. We bargain hunt as best as we can but our shopping bill is up to easily $600/month.
Not to mention phone, water, heat, electricity, basic cable, car expenses, child expenses.

We have looked into assisted living and other government funded assistance but as a household apparently make far too much to apply for any type of help. By my governments standards we make more than enough to properly support ourselves. Why are we so hard up then? We are very moderate with our spending,
count every penny. Never eat out, only drive 1 car, never go out to anywhere that costs and frankly have dropped all our hobbies and extra currilcular activites just to survive and we are still on the verge of starving to death.

Furthermore I was panicked when I heard on the radio this morning that we can expect to see our cost of living to increase by 20% over the next year. I am currently working beyond full time and have resorted to doing extra work contracts over the weekends. I get no time to spend with my family as is and am still quickly slipping into bankruptcy.

My wife looked into full time work and putting the kids in daycare but the cost of daycare would be more than what she could make so really what’s the point.

What is a young family to do in this current economic situation?

What is the benefit of using a Realtor?

piranha360 asked:

I mean, if I can find the property i want online. What would the benefit be of using an established Realtor? Do most Realtors have bargaining power to lower the price? Thanks.
